How To Change The Images On Your New Website

One of the things you will want to do when you first access your new website is to replace the demo images with your own.

We’ve made it really easy for you to change the images on your new website whenever you wish.

When you first log in to your new website control panel, you will see the video tutorials we have created for you which includes ho to change the images. So that’s the best place to head but for written instructions, read on…

From the dashboard of your website control panel, click on the ‘Pages’ tab in the left-hand menu.

If you have a one-page website, then you will only see one page listed – your home page and you should click on that page where it says ‘Home’.

If you have a multi-page website then you will see a list of all of the pages on your website and you should click on the page name which holds the image(s) you wish to change.

In the screenshot below, we’re going to change an image on the ‘About’ page.

Once you are on the correct page, scroll down the page to find the image you would like to change and hover your mouse over the top of it. This will display 2 icons, click on the ‘x’ icon to remove the existing image.

Now that the existing image has been removed, you can click the ‘Add Image’ button which is in the place where the image previously appeared.

Next, you will need to upload your new image to the website. You can do this in two ways:
1. Click the ‘Select Files’ button to browse your computer for the image you wish to upload.
2. Drag your preferred image from its location on your computer onto the ‘Drop files to upload’ area screen.

Enter some useful text in the ‘Alt Text’ field that describes the image you are using. This helps ensure your website accessible to less-abled users who are using a screen reader to browse your website.

In addition, search engines like Google, also use the ‘Alt Text’ to understand what your image is so filling this field out for all of your images will help with your Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) efforts.

Next, click the ‘Select’ button in the bottom right corner to add your uploaded image into your page.

You will now see your newly uploaded image in the place of the previously removed image.

If you would like to change more images, you can simply repeat the process for every image on the same page.

Next, click the ‘Update’ button near the top right of the page to save all of the changes you have made to the page.
